On the 27th of July last year I proposed to my long time girlfriend and mother of my child, Kathryn. She said yes and became my fiancée. Since that point the pressure has been on from family and friends to organise the occasion. Me being the organisational pro that I am (read OCD) have been tasked with the organisation and financial aspects of the big day. After dragging my feet for almost a year I finally started planning everything today.
Whilst happily planning away I came up with the idea to document the planning and organisation of my wedding on this blog in true “Don’t Tell the Bride” fashion. There are several reasons for this, which are:
- I intend to use the act of documenting the event as motivation to follow it through to completion.
- I want to be able to look back at this in the years to come as a testament to the effort I made.
- I intend for this to act as an aid for anyone going through the same process.
The first post which will follow this in the coming days will discuss budgetary requirements for various items on my continually growing list. Plus links to any external resources which I have found helpful during this process.
