Had this issue Wednesday on a HP Compaq 500B MicroTower PC. It appeared that the machine had a graphics driver issue that was causing it to blue-screen or reset the display adaptor when the error occurred.
To remedy this I went to the HP website and grabbed a copy of what seemed to be the latest Intel Integrated Graphics Driver and installed it. After a reboot and two days of use by the end user it appears to be resolved.
A quick Google into the problem pointed to a heat issue, which wasn’t the cause in this case but should be ruled out before reinstalling or upgrading the graphics drivers.
