AVAYA voicemail configuration instructions

To log into your voicemail remotely:

  1. Call your own extension number (or full DID if outside the network).
  2. Wait for your personal greeting to begin playing. While it is playing dial *7.
  3. You will be prompted to enter your extension followed by #.
  4. Next you will be prompted to enter your mailbox password and press #.
  5. You will then hear a summary of your voicemail messages.

To change your name in voicemail:

  1. Log into your mailbox. Press Message or dial 5555 and input your extension followed by a # then your pin which is 2580 by default followed by #.
  2. Press 5 for Personal Options.
  3. Press 5 again. If you have already recorded your name, you will hear it played back to you. You will also hear an explanation of when your name is used.
  4. After the tone, speak your name and press 1 to stop the recording. (Please note, the recording needs to be at least 3 seconds long.)
  5. Your recording will be played back. Press 1 to record again or # to accept the current recording.

To change your voicemail access password:

  1. Log into your mailbox. Press Message or dial 5555 and input your extension followed by a # then 2580 followed by #.
  2. Press 5 for Personal Options.
  3. Press 4 to Change Your Password.
  4. Enter the new password and press #. We recommend that the password be at least 4 digits in length. The system allows for up to 15 digits. Your password may not be the same as your extension number, a set of repeated digits (1111), or consecutive digits (1234).
  5. Re-enter the new password and press #. You will hear a message confirming that your password has been changed.
