How to determine your version of Tomcat and Java

Use the following commands to determine what version of Tomcat and Java you are running:

locate catalina.jar
/usr/share/java/tomcat6/catalina.jar
java -cp /usr/share/java/tomcat6/catalina.jar org.apache.catalina.util.ServerInfo
Server version: Apache Tomcat/6.0.24
Server built: July 24 2015 0753
Server number: 6.0.24.0
OS Name: Linux
OS Version: 2.6.32-573.18.1.el6.x86_64
Architecture: amd64
JVM Version: 1.6.0_38-b38
JVM Vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.

Of course you could also find out your version of Java like so:

java -version
java version "1.6.0_38"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.13.10) (rhel-1.13.10.0.el6_7-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
